Hello Toby: I can’t seem to find the right words to tell you how much your Steel Drum work shop meant to the kids and me. I was amazed by your talent and your ability to make those kids laugh. They loved the selection of songs you performed, but they really enjoyed getting up to play the instruments themselves. In a single hour, you significantly affected each of those students lives, and that should make you proud. You are a true musician who plays from the heart, and that is not always easy to find. Dear Toby: I wanted to thank you again for your wonderful performance at Hillside School on Monday. It was the perfect way to open our 2008 school-year. The boys are still talking about arriving at school that morning and being greeted by your unique steel pan performance.

Your brief demonstration of the early history and evolution of the steel pans in Trinidad and your teaching skills demonstrated during your workshop were also greatly appreciated by all in attendance. Student were not only fascinated by the way the instrument is made, but also cherished the opportunity of being able to play the instrument themselves.

Again, thank you for making our opening day of the 2008 school year a success!
